Every Day Home is an independent U.S. publication covering home, kitchen, cleaning, smart home, and outdoor living. This Editorial Policy explains how we research, write, edit, and update the content on this site.
Independence
All editorial decisions — what we cover, what we recommend, and how we rank products — are made by our editorial team without input from advertisers, affiliate networks, or product manufacturers. Commissions we earn from qualifying affiliate purchases fund our research; they never influence which products we select.
If a merchant offers Every Day Home a higher commission rate, that has no bearing on whether a product appears in our guides or where it ranks. Any product that isn't good enough to recommend to a friend does not appear on this site.
Research process
Every product guide on Every Day Home is built from a combination of primary and secondary sources, including:
- Manufacturer specifications and safety documentation
- Consumer safety databases (CPSC, NHTSA, FDA where relevant)
- Independent product testing organizations and consumer research reports
- Verified customer reviews aggregated across multiple U.S. retailers
- Third-party certifications (NSF, ENERGY STAR, AHAM, UL, ETL)
- Interviews and firsthand experience from our editorial team
Fact-checking and sourcing
Numeric claims — capacity, wattage, coverage area, price, warranty length, energy savings — are verified against the manufacturer's official documentation at time of publication. Where a certification is cited (NSF, ENERGY STAR, AHAM), we link to or reference the certifying body. Prices are provided as a reference and may fluctuate at retailers.
Updates and freshness
We revisit buying guides on an annual or semi-annual basis, and immediately when a product is discontinued, recalled, materially updated, or when a new market-leading competitor is released. Each article displays a "Last updated" date when it has been meaningfully revised.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. When a substantive correction is made — a factual error, a mispriced product, a misattributed feature — we update the article and note the change. Readers who spot an error can reach us at coisasdeamericano@gmail.com. We aim to respond within two business days.
Use of AI tools
We may use AI-assisted tools for research, outlining, image generation, and light copy editing. Every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human member of the Every Day Home team before publication. We do not publish machine-generated content without human editorial review.
Sponsored content
Every Day Home does not currently publish sponsored posts or paid product reviews. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be clearly labeled and separated from editorial coverage in accordance with FTC 16 CFR Part 255 guidance.
